The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main Exam Date. The examination will take place in two sessions – Session 1 and Session 2. So the Session 1 exams will start from 22nd to 30th January 2025 and the Session 2 from 1st to 8th April 2025 (tentatively). The dates were published here at: jeemain.nta.ac.in.

The major reason for taking the JEE major 2025 test is to get admittance to undergraduate engineering courses (B.E/B.Tech.) at IITs, NITs, other CFTIs, and institutions/universities funded/recognized by collaborating state governments. Furthermore, JEE (Main) is a qualification test for JEE (Advanced). The exam takes place twice a year – January and April. This would provide applicants with two chances to enhance their examination marks if they are unable to give their all in one try.

About Papers of JEE Main Exam

Now, let’s have a look at the papers for the JEE Main Exam.

  • The Paper 1 is for admittance to BE/BTech courses. It covers questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in grades 11 and 12.
  • Papers 2A and 2B are essential for admission to the BArch and BPlan courses, respectively. Paper 2A comprises Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing. Also, Paper 2B includes Mathematics, Aptitude Tests, and Planning-related questions.

The NTA JEE Mains 2025 examination will be computer-based, with the exception of the Drawing portion of Paper 2, which will be done on pen and paper. Earlier, the NTA notified revisions to the JEE Main 2025 test pattern. According to the revised test design, section B of the JEE Main 2025 exam will feature 5 questions per topic, and candidates must answer all 5 questions without the option of selection. Since, the JEE Main Exam Date are out now, aspirants must level up their exam preparation.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2025

Now that the JEE Main Exam Date is out, the next step is understanding the eligibility criteria. To take the JEE Main test, candidates must have completed or be in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects. The examination can be taken by anyone, at any age, with any number of marks in Class 12. However, students can only take it three times a row after passing Class 12.

Below are the eligibility criteria that students must meet to sit for the JEE Main exam:

  • The candidates must have passed their 12th grade in 2023 or 2024 or be taking it in 2025.
  • There is no prerequisite score needed to take the JEE Main. However, candidates must get at least 75% in their 12th grade or get into an IIT, NIT, or IIIT.
  • Candidates need to have Mathematics as a compulsory subject in 12th grade.
  • You can apply for JEE Main at any age.

JEE Main 2025 Result

Those who recently took the JEE Main test at the scheduled JEE Main Exam Date eagerly anticipate the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the results. The NTA will post the JEE Main 2025 results on its official website. NTA publishes the results about 20 to 25 days after each of the session completion dates. 

To get the results and make the Merit List, the NTA scores for each individual in B.E./B. Tech for Sessions 1 and 2 of JEE (Main) will be added together. For applicants who appeared in both sessions, the best of the two NTA Scores (Total) will be used for further processing. After Session 2 of the JEE (Main) Exam, the All-India Rank is made public.

The Ministry of Education (previously the Ministry of Human Resources Development, MHRD) has set up the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). So, its main responsibility is to manage and regulate the process of allocating seats to 119 distinct educational institutions.

Among these institutions are 23 of the most famous IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 38 Other Technical Institutes that get some or all of their financial aid from the Central or State Government (Other-GFTIs).

Eligibility Criteria for JoSAA Counselling 2025

  • Completing the 12th Class: You must pass your 12th boards.
  • JEE Main Exam Qualification: You must pass the JEE Main exam to be qualified.
  • IITs after JEE Advanced: You can apply to IITs after passing JEE Advanced.
  • Other Institution: It’s possible to apply for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs if you meet the standards for JEE Main.

The 2025 JoSAA counselling process includes several steps that make sure the admissions process is systematic and clear. Below are the steps:

  1. Registration: First, use your JEE Main 2025 details to sign up on the official JOSAA website.
  2. Make your selections for institutions and courses: Based on your expertise and qualifications, choose the branches and institutions you want to go with.
  3. Choice Locking: Lock the choices you’ve made, and make sure you have a copy for future use.
  4. Seat Allocation: Seats are given out based on your rank, your selections for program and college, and the number of seats that are available.
  5. Document Verification: Online document checking is done, and it’s an important step that needs to be taken before moving on.
  6. Report at the institute: Lastly, visit the allotted institution to pay the fees and complete any other necessary steps to finish your admissions process.
